Trenton Reed: Q&A With Liquid Pro-Am's JohnnyRed

For those of you that don’t know me, my name is Trenton Reed, I’m from Montana, and I’m also a team writer for Liquid Pro-Am. In today’s post, I got to chat with JohnnyRed, who plays shooting guard for Liquid Pro-Am on the XBOX side. Below, we talked about how JohnnyRed got into playing competitive pro-am, his hobbies outside of NBA 2K, and much more. I appreciate everyone who takes the time out of your day to read this article and thank you very much for reading.

Q: Which was the first 2K that you played at a casual level?

A: “NBA 2K17.”

Q: Who or what inspired you to get into the competitive pro-am scene?

A: “What inspired me was seeing everyone in the NBA 2K League not only playing the game, but it being their job.”

Q: What are some hobbies that you have outside of NBA 2K?

A: “Going out with friends and basketball.”

Q: If you had to choose a position other than shooting guard, what would you choose?

A: “Center or Power Forward”

Q: Who is your biggest supporter in the NBA 2K community?

A: “Notorious” (Brooklyn NetsGC)

Q: Do you have aspirations to be in the NBA 2K League?

A:  “Yes, I do have NBA 2K league aspirations.”

A: “Good vibes, ready to win, give it their all, and communicate.”

Q: What are some of your biggest strengths and weaknesses when it comes to you as not only a player, but also as a teammate? What, if anything, do you feel you need to work on the most?

A: “My biggest strengths are my scoring ability and my energy… my biggest weakness is probably my attitude sometimes.”

Q: Do you watch film before you play your tournament and playoff games to understand your opponent’s tendencies?

A: “Depending on the rounds…. recently in the WR Finals, my team and I watched film on our matchup.”

Q: What is your favorite NBA 2K of all time?

A: “My favorite 2K is NBA 2K20, because in my opinion I think it was the most balanced.”

Q: What made you want to join the Liquid Pro-Am brand?

A: “I saw how invested our sponsor was in trying to make us the best and how much he trusted us… even in the bad moments and still giving us full sponsorship, even when we weren’t winning.”

Q: What teams do you look forward to playing the most during post-draft and which teams do you least look forward to playing?

A: “Teams I look forward to playing the most are the new up-and-coming teams. I look least forward to playing ENG because we have played them 6 or 7 times by now, and don’t feel like playing the same team repeatedly.”

Q: If you had to chose one word to describe yourself as a player, what would it be?

A: “Determined.”
