NapX Prospect Showcase: Xbox Round Robin Review

Last night, the NapX Prospect Showcase continued with the Xbox round-robin tournament. Below are statistics, highlights (at the end), final results, and short summaries for each game:

Team Crush & SSWI vs. Team Firesticks & Malik

Team Crush & SSWI never quite got it going offensively, shooting 9-for-25 as from deep as a team. Team Crush and SSWI went on what turned out to be a game-changing run, closing out the third quarter strongly and claiming a nine-point lead heading into the final frame. Shotti (26pts), Tayzo (19pts), and Arsonal (16pts) led the way, shooting a combined 24-for-30 from the field (80%) while starting the night with a 1-0 record.

Team Firesticks & Malik vs. Team Dayfri & Dirk

Team Firesticks & Malik eventually figured out the tough Dayfri & Dirk defense, finishing with a win and starting the night 2-0. Shotti posted a game-high 38 points on 6-for-11 shooting from deep, while turning over the ball just two times. With the win, Team Firesticks & Malik advanced to 2-0, nearly securing a championship game appearance before playing their final game of the evening.

Team Goofy & Champ vs. Team Crush & SSWI

This one went overtime and a pair of three’s from Team Crush & SSWI late proved to be the difference (one via Dawsix; one via Wale). With the win, Team Crush and SSWI got themselves in the win column, keeping their chances alive at a championship berth come Sunday.

Team Dayfri & Dirk vs. Team Crush & SSWI

In order to stay alive, Team Dayfri & Dirk needed to win this one. Unfortunately, Team Crush & SSWI had other plans, scoring 20 points in back-to-back quarters to open the contest. Deron finished with a game-high 37 points, punching a ticket to Sunday’s championship series.

Team Firesticks & Malik vs. Team Goofy & Champ

Three games for Team Firesticks & Malik, three wins for Team Firesticks & Malik. Shotti and co. finished the night flawlessly, dominating the second half (39-26) en route to a sizable victory. Their frontcourt did a little bit of everything, as HOMI and Arsonal combined for 17 points, 18 rebounds, 14 assists, 3 steals, and 3 blocks. On Sunday, they’ll face off with Team Crush & SSWI in a best-of-three championship series.
